Magnetic Ballasts

A magnetic ballast is a piece of lighting equipment and a type of electrical power regulator used in small and large grow rooms lighting systems. Like all ballasts, it regulates the voltage a light receives to prevent the bulb from overheating.

A magnetic ballast is essentially an electromagnet housed inside a box where the electrical current is channeled into a single induction coil. Used in conjunction with capacitors it will reduce and maintain the voltage at a specific level.

When choosing a magnetic ballast, you must validate that the output precisely matches the electrical requirements of the light it regulates.
